Fun with Origami
Origami or " 折纸 " is a form of art that combines geometric sense with imagination to fold a piece of paper into an intended object. Learning origami not only helps with visual-motor skills, but also the mathematical thinking of symmetry and temporal-spatial concepts through pattern recognition and sequencing skills. As part of the theme for our summer class on learning the robotic actuators, we offer this brand new class showing students how to use their hands and imaginati

Summer Camp 2026
A half-day summer camp from Jragon Academy will lead the students through a journey from a basic introduction to building their robots that can tackle challenges. Following the curriculum of First Lego League, one of the most popular youth robotics competitions in the world, every day the students will be exposed to a new aspect of robotics. The topics are building up towards a showcase of talents and ideas on the last day of the camp. Parents will be invited to the grand fi

Summer Introductory Robotics, Advanced
Program Details: Based on the framework of the First Lego League competition, the most popular youth robotic competition in the world, students will build robots that incorporate physics and mathematics concepts such as simple machines, forces and motion, geometry and data collection into the robotic design and implementation. Under the guidance of a certified First Lego League coach, they will build the robot with sensors and code it with algorithms while working on their ch

Competitive Robotics
Program Details: This class will be a mini version of the actual First Lego League competition, using the exact competition set, missions, the same robotic set, and the same scoring rules. The students will first be trained as a group for the first 3-4 sessions in connecting robot design with solving real-world problems. During the training, the students will learn how to build a robot, using sensors and coding platforms to operate the robot, and how to incorporate feedback t

Team Robo Jragon
Every year, we assemble teams to participate in First Lego League competitions. We have previously participated and achieved high rankings in the 2023, 2024, and 2025 "Challenge Division", the highest in this section of the league. The previous themes include Art ("Masterpiece"), Underwater Submersibles ("Submerged"), and Archaeology ("Unearthed"). Students are expected to blend solving real-world problems with accomplishing Lego robotic missions under time pressure and withi

Astronomy and Robotics
In collaboration with the Youth Astronomy Network, hosted and sponsored by the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, this class will combine observing the Space and our universe with learning how the remotely-controlled robotic telescope works. Through accessing the MicroObservatory Robotic Telescopes run by the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, students will take astronomical images of the moon, the Sun, Nebulae, and Galaxies, and conduct scientific analysi
