Fun with Origami

Origami or "折纸" is a form of art that combines geometric sense with imagination to fold a piece of paper into an intended object. Learning origami not only helps with visual-motor skills, but also the mathematical thinking of symmetry and temporal-spatial concepts through pattern recognition and sequencing skills.

As part of the theme for our summer class on learning the robotic actuators, we offer this brand new class showing students how to use their hands and imagination to make a 3D object out of a 2D paper, and eventually motorize it with an electronic kit. Students can take home the origami objects that they build.
This three-week class is for students in grades 2-5.
